Himachal Pradesh Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to public service, good governance, and inclusive development while addressing a public thanksgiving ceremony at the historic Darbar Ground in Kumarsain on Saturday. Local MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore attended the event as the guest of honour.
Expressing gratitude for the public’s support and trust, the minister congratulated the newly elected panchayat representatives and said the government is committed to ensuring that development benefits reach every section of society in a transparent and time-bound manner. He highlighted the crucial role of local panchayats in achieving this objective.
Sharing updates on infrastructure projects, Singh said construction of the Narkanda–Doja–Bhadawali road, costing around ₹6.70 crore, is nearly 70 percent complete and will be inaugurated soon. He also said the Kathal Nala–Koti Nala road is being upgraded at a cost of about ₹16 crore, while work on the OD–Kotgarh–Beethal road project worth nearly ₹19 crore is progressing.
The minister announced that the government will implement a new drainage policy for road construction, incorporating modern drainage systems and larger culverts to minimise monsoon damage. He added that eight link roads have been approved under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana-IV and urged local residents to provide land through gift deeds to facilitate timely construction.
He said the government continues to strengthen road connectivity, drinking water supply, education, healthcare, urban development, and other essential infrastructure, emphasising that public participation remains key to the state’s development.
Vikramaditya Singh also assured that any additional funds required to complete the community hall being constructed near Darbar Ground would be provided. After the event, he interacted with local residents and directed officials to ensure prompt resolution of issues related to roads, water supply, electricity, education, healthcare, and other civic services.
MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore said the state government is consistently working for the welfare of every section of society and balanced regional development. He also highlighted the allocation of funds from his MLA development budget for projects in the Kumarsain area and thanked the minister for his continued support.
