Hamirpur, June 11: Two young children who were left without parental care following the death of their mother have been placed at Bal Ashram Sujanpur under the care of the District Child Protection Unit. Authorities have appealed to any relatives or legal guardians to come forward within 60 days, failing which the children may be declared legally free for adoption.
District Child Protection Officer Kuldeep Singh Chauhan said that nine-year-old Yuvraj and seven-year-old Sahil were referred to Bal Ashram Sujanpur by the Child Welfare Committee, Una, on June 9. According to official records, their mother, Babli, died by suicide, while their biological father, Ravinder Kumar, is deceased.
As per the police report, the family had recently moved to Una district in search of work. The children’s Aadhaar records indicate that their native residence is in Dhar Kalan, Pathankot district of Punjab.
Officials stated that any family member or relative wishing to take responsibility for the children may contact Bal Ashram Sujanpur or the District Child Protection Unit, Hamirpur, with the necessary documents. If no eligible claimant comes forward within the stipulated period, legal proceedings will be initiated to make the children eligible for adoption, ensuring they can receive a secure and supportive family environment.
