THDC India Limited Wins First Rajbhasha Kirti Award

Rishikesh, September 14, 2024: Shri R.K. Vishnoi, Chairman and Managing Director of THDC India Limited, announced that the company has been honored with the Rajbhasha Kirti Award for the year 2023-24. This award, presented by the Ministry of Home Affairs’ Rajbhasha Department, recognizes THDC India Limited in the ‘Category A’ of public sector enterprises for its excellent implementation of the Hindi language policy.
The award was presented by Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the grand Hindi Day celebrations and the Fourth All-India Rajbhasha Conference held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The ceremony was attended by prominent figures including Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai, Parliamentary Rajbhasha Committee member Bhratari Mahatab, renowned poet Hariom Panwar, Secretary of the Rajbhasha Department Anshuli Arya, and Joint Secretary Dr. Meenakshi Jolly.
Shri Shailendra Singh, Director (Personnel) of THDC India Limited and Chairman of the Municipal Rajbhasha Implementation Committee, Haridwar, congratulated all officials and staff, emphasizing the company’s leadership role not only in power production but also in Hindi language implementation. THDC has been entrusted with the responsibility of Municipal Rajbhasha Implementation Committees in Haridwar and Tehri for the past seven years, ensuring effective Hindi language use.
Shri Sapan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance) at THDC India Limited, stated that the award reflects the company’s commitment to fulfilling its constitutional and statutory duties. The corporation strives to fully establish Hindi as the official language, complying with the Rajbhasha Department’s annual programs. Inspections by parliamentary and Ministry of Power officials during 2023-24 praised THDC’s implementation of the Rajbhasha policy.
The award ceremony was also attended by senior and junior officials from the Hindi section, including Shri Ishwar Datt Tigga, Deputy General Manager (Admin & PR), Shri Robin Singhal, Senior Manager (Finance), and Shri Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Assistant Manager (Rajbhasha).
