Sukh-Ashray Scheme: Karsog Beneficiaries Receive ₹10 Lakh in Pocket Money
The state government’s ambitious Sukh-Ashray Scheme is beginning to benefit eligible recipients in rural and remote areas. In the Karsog region, 41 identified beneficiaries have started receiving financial aid under this scheme. Each beneficiary is provided ₹4,000 per month as pocket money. This initiative supports orphaned children aged 0 to 27 who have no guardians. These children are declared “Children of the State” and are financially supported by the state government.
₹10 Lakh Disbursed
Under the scheme, beneficiaries have received a total of ₹24,000 each for six months from April 2024 to September 2024. The total amount disbursed to the 41 beneficiaries in Karsog is approximately ₹10 lakh. The scheme is designed by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to support these children and ensure their livelihood expenses are covered by the state.
District-Wide Beneficiaries
Approximately 400 beneficiaries in the Mandi district are included in the Sukh-Ashray Scheme. The total financial aid provided in Mandi is about ₹94.72 lakh. Beneficiaries are spread across various blocks including Choutra (39), Dharmpur (32), Drang (55), Gohar (26), Gopalpur (51), Rewalsar (34), Sadar (55), Saraj (35), Sundernagar (32), and Karsog (41).
Beneficiaries Receiving Aid
CDPO Karsog Vipasha Bhatia highlighted that efforts are ongoing to ensure the benefits of state welfare schemes reach the eligible individuals. For the Sukh-Ashray Scheme, all identified beneficiaries in the region have received ₹24,000 each as pocket money.
