Shoolini University students take Drug-Free Pledge under Nationwide Mega Campaign

Shoolini University organised a Drug-Free India Awareness Session for its students as part of the nationwide “10 Crore Addiction-Free Pledge – Mega Campaign” (10 Crore Nasha Mukti Pratigya Mahabhiyan), in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris Nauni and Solan Centres.
The campaign, conducted in collaboration with the Brahma Kumaris, aimed to inspire citizens to pledge against drug and substance abuse and contribute to building a healthier, safer, and addiction-free society. The initiative was aligned with the objectives of the Government of India’s Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.
The awareness session was led by Brahma Kumaris Sisters Kalpana and Aarti, along with Prof. K. K. Raina, Scientific Advisor, Dr Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Solan. They sensitised students to the harmful physical, psychological and social consequences of drug and substance abuse, while highlighting the importance of self-discipline, mental well-being, positive thinking and responsible decision-making in preventing addiction.
Addressing the students, Prof. Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean, Student Welfare, Shoolini University, emphasised the importance of creating a supportive and positive environment for young people. He said that awareness and timely intervention played a crucial role in preventing substance abuse among youth. He encouraged students to make responsible choices, support their peers and actively contribute to building a drug-free society. Prof. Gandotra also formally commenced the programme and delivered the concluding remarks, thanking the Brahma Kumaris representatives and Prof. Raina for their valuable contribution to the awareness initiative.
