Schools in Sirmaur to Remain Closed on Sept 1 Amid Red Alert
1 min readNahan, August 31 – In view of the Red Alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for extremely heavy rainfall on September 1, the District Magistrate of Sirmaur, Priyanka Verma (IAS), has ordered the closure of all Government and Private educational institutions, including Anganwadi centres, as a precautionary measure. The district has been witnessing continuous rainfall, leading to landslides, flash floods, and road blockages, posing risks to student safety. However, teaching and non-teaching staff have been directed to remain present in their respective institutions as per government instructions.
