Roda Development Projects Worth ₹100 Crore to Be Planned as an Integrated Zone
Una, October 21: Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has stressed the need for coordinated planning of development projects worth around ₹100 crore in Roda, Haroli, to ensure the systematic use of government land and adequate provision of essential infrastructure.
During his visit to the area on Wednesday, Agnihotri reviewed the progress of ongoing works and discussed land utilisation and future requirements with officials. He directed them to expedite the construction of the ₹22-crore heliport, targeting its completion by July 2027.
He also inspected the synthetic athletics track being developed at a cost of around ₹10 crore. Emphasising that several projects were being developed simultaneously in the area, he called for better coordination to ensure proper arrangements for buildings, parking, drainage and other essential facilities.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to prepare a comprehensive land-use plan clearly identifying the areas earmarked for each project and the space required for parking and other infrastructure. He suggested taking the assistance of architects, if necessary, to develop an integrated plan for the entire area.
He also instructed the concerned departments, including the Public Works Department, to ensure that all essential facilities were incorporated into the projects and that construction was completed within the stipulated timelines.
Several key projects are being developed along the New Haroli Vikas Path, which runs from the Sombhadra Bridge to the Jal Shakti Bhawan in Haroli. The traffic park, built at a cost of around ₹14 crore, has been completed, while the Jal Shakti Bhawan has been constructed at a cost of approximately ₹12 crore.
An automated testing station costing around ₹5 crore is also under construction. Once operational, it will provide driving tests, vehicle fitness checks and vehicle passing facilities at a single location.
Other projects proposed for the area include a judicial complex, indoor stadium, fairground, Industries Department offices and an ex-servicemen’s building.
Agnihotri said all completed, ongoing and proposed projects should be planned in line with the area’s present and future needs to prevent infrastructure gaps and avoid the need for major changes at a later stage.
