In an electrifying display of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) hosted the RIDE Hack’24, a 48-hour hackathon that commenced on April 25, 2024. This landmark event, a collaborative effort of Jaypee Higher Education System, brought together academic luminaries, industry stalwarts, and ambitious students, all united in their quest to push the boundaries of technology and creativity.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Member of HPPERC, Prof. Shashi Kant Sharma Ji, who shared invaluable insights into the realm of open-source development and its pivotal role in today’s digital landscape.
Prof. Vivek Kumar Sehgal, Head of the Computer Science and Engineering department, ignited the spark of innovation among students, urging them to channel their creativity into tangible solutions. Prof. Shruti Jain, Associate Dean (Innovation), set the tone for the hackathon by outlining the general rules and guidelines, encouraging participants to embrace a mindset of innovation and disruption.
Inspiring words resonated from Prof. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Dean of Academics & Research, as he urged students to not only solve existing problems but also pioneer the creation of job opportunities through their innovations.
Highlighting the essence of the hackathon, Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, emphasized the importance of fostering teamwork and collaboration among participants. Drawing from personal experiences, he underscored the significance of mentoring students to become successful entrepreneurs and integrating skill-embedded courses to enhance employability.
In a proud declaration, Prof. Shashi Kant Sharma Ji hailed JUIT as the epitome of academic excellence, not only in Himachal Pradesh but also across India.
