Reunion: 1973-76 Student batch of Govt. Polytechnic Hamirpur Honours Teachers

The pass out students of 1973-76 batch of Govt. Polytechnic, Hamirpur assembled in the Polytechnic campus and met with their teachers and honoured them almost after half a century. They created a history of its sort.

Govt. Polytechnic, Hamirpur was established in the year 1963 and happens to be the second oldest Polytechnic of Himachal Pradesh. The alumini of Govt. Polytechnic Hamirpur have served in the country & outside on very high prestigious posts.

The alumini of the batch 1973-76 included 3 retired Chief Engineers, 5 Retd. Suprintending Engineers and majority of them retired as Executive Engineer after serving in the various Prestigious Govt & Private Deptt like HPPWD,HPI&PH,HPSEB, MES, BRO & Nagarjuna Construction Pvt. Ltd. etc.

The alumini students got emotional recalling their all those Golden Days which they spent in the institute. Emotions were rendering all around, the students were hugging each other and sharing their experiences & thoughts. There were emotional as well as joyful moments. The event was full of nostalgic moments

The retired teachers who were honoured on the occasion included Er. M.L.Sharma (Director, Technical Education) Er. D.N.Lakhanpal (Joint Director, Technical Education) Er. D.K.Gautam (Principal) Ar. Rakesh Kapoor (Principal) all HOD’s which included Er. T.N.Mahajan, Er. Y.D.Sharma, Er. M.K.Sharma, Er. T.R. Sharma & Sh. B.K.Sharma. The aluminin students also honoured Er. Satish Dhingra(Present Principal, Govt. Polytechnic Hamirpur) on the occasion.

The Silver Lining of the event was to honour Sh.Ravinder Nath Guleria (their Batchmate) who was conferred with the Kirti Chakra posthumous by Govt. of India for his valour, courageous action & self-sacrifice while serving with BRO in Jammu & Kashmir.
