MURIOUS 17.0 Held at JUIT, Waknaghat

The JUIT Youth Club successfully organized the first day of the 17th edition of Murious, aTtechnical Fest, on February 24, 2023. The event, which spans over three days, features 17 different activities that aims to engage students and faculty members alike.
The event kicked off with a stock simulation competition where participants used virtual money to trade stocks on the StockGro app. Next up was “Frame-By-Frame,” a team-based activity where students showcased their hard work and coordination in the lead-up to the festival by creating videos of their respective clubs.
Another event, “Picture Perfect,” involved participants capturing photographs of the campus and using them to tell a story about the festival. The inauguration ceremony began with the lighting of the lamp by the Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajendra Kumar Sharma, Registrar and Dean of Students Major General Rakesh Bassi, JYC Incharge Dr. Amit Srivastava, and Head of Department (CSE) Dr. Vivek Kumar Sehgal. The Vice-Chancellor also shared his thoughts on how such events help students prosper and bring out the best in them.
The faculty members also had a chance to participate in games against each other. However, the main highlight of the event was “The Expanse 2.0,” a 20-hour coding event where participants had to use their coding skills to provide a solution to a real-life problem. With a prize pool of over 18,000 Rs, this event attracted a large number of participants.
Other events on the first day included “Make it Print,” where students designed T-shirts, “Brush and Canvas,” a painting competition to showcase their artistic skills, and eSports, which included popular games such as Valorant, FIFA, and Mini-Militia.
The first day of Murious 17.0 was a resounding success, with students and faculty members eagerly preparing for the second day. The organizers were highly appreciated for their efforts in putting together a fantastic event.
