MSME Entrepreneurs Trained in Business Planning and GeM Portal in Kullu

Kullu | August 3: The Industries Department, Government of Himachal Pradesh, organised a one-day workshop under the RAMP programme to enhance the competitiveness and market access of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Around 50 MSME entrepreneurs, self-help group (SHG) members, artisans and other stakeholders participated in the workshop on Business Planning, GeM & CPP Portal, and Market Sustainability.

District Industries Centre Manager Parveen Lata attended the programme as the chief guest. During the first session, Dr. Manish Sood guided participants on business planning, financial management, cost control and identifying new market opportunities.

In the second session, Avinash Sharma explained the registration process on the GeM and CPP portals, government procurement procedures, bidding mechanisms and opportunities available for MSMEs. Members of the RAMP team also provided on-the-spot technical assistance and helped several entrepreneurs register on the GeM portal.

The final session focused on branding, quality standards, customer retention and long-term market sustainability strategies. Addressing participants, Parveen Lata highlighted that the GeM portal is the most transparent platform for government procurement and encouraged MSMEs to leverage it for expanding business opportunities.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where registered entrepreneurs shared their experiences, while several new participants initiated their GeM registration during the event. The Industries Department said such workshops under the RAMP programme would strengthen the digital capabilities of MSMEs and enhance their participation in both government and private markets.
