He said the Mandi Jan Kalyan Sabha, established in Delhi in 1961 with the objective of bringing together people from Mandi and Himachal Pradesh and promoting social service, has today emerged as a broad social platform representing the interests of the community. The organisation conducts free medical and eye-care camps and provides a common platform for people from different regions and sections of society, strengthening cooperation, unity and a sense of community.

Thakur congratulated the members, office-bearers and volunteers of the Sabha for successfully organising the ‘Sair Mahotsav’ and expressed the hope that its long-standing work in social service, healthcare, relief and cultural preservation would continue to reach greater heights.

Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur also congratulated the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) workers and winning candidates following the organisation’s victory in the Delhi University Students’ Union elections.

Referring to the recent students’ union election results at Punjab University and Delhi University, he said youth participation and student leadership have an important role in shaping the country’s future.

He extended his congratulations to all ABVP workers and the elected representatives and wished them success in their future endeavours.
