LR Institute of Legal Studies Organises Guest Lectures on Evidence Law and Justice
Solan, November 4: LR Institute of Legal Studies, Solan, organised two special guest lectures to provide students with deeper insights into legal principles, judicial ethics and emerging developments in the legal profession.
Prof. (Dr.) Param Jeet Singh, former Dean, Faculty of Law, Punjabi University, Patiala, delivered a lecture on Evidence Law, highlighting its practical relevance and application beyond academic textbooks. The interactive session allowed students and faculty members to discuss key concepts and clarify their queries.
In another session, Prof. (Dr.) Jawahar Lal Kaul, former Vice-Chancellor of Vikram University, Ujjain, and Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, spoke on the theme of Justice. He emphasised the importance of independent thinking, moral courage and standing by the truth, even when it means differing from the majority. He also discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence in legal practice, research and the administration of justice.
Prof. (Dr.) Sunil Deshta, Principal-cum-Director of the institute, thanked the distinguished speakers and said such academic interactions help students develop professional competence and a strong commitment to justice, reinforcing the role of law as a means of serving society.
