Light Magnitude Earthquake in Shimla

Shimla, Oct 13

The National Centre of Seismological Centre informed that a light magnitude earthquake occurred in Shimla town on Tuesday afternoon. So far no report of any loss to life or damage to property has been reported, said an NCS officer in his statement issued here today.

The epicenter of the earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 on a Richter scale, was located at latitude 31.21 degrees North and longitude of 77.93 degrees East and Depth of five km in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. The earthquake’s magnitude was recorded as 3.1 Magnitude at 1638 hrs on Tuesday.
