JUIT Hosts All India Girls Expedition (HIMTREK) 2026; Over 500 NCC Girl Cadets Participate

Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, a NAAC-accredited premier university known for excellence in engineering, technology, research, innovation, and holistic student development, is hosting the All India Girls Expedition (HIMTREK) 2026 from 5–12 June 2026. The national-level expedition has brought together 510 NCC girl cadets from across India for a week of adventure, leadership development, cultural exchange, and national integration.
The expedition is being organized by 1 HP (G) Battalion NCC Solan under the Shimla Group, PHHP&C Directorate. With its world-class infrastructure, residential facilities, and scenic Himalayan campus, JUIT provides an ideal environment for conducting large-scale youth leadership and adventure programmes. Cadets from five NCC Directorates—Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Delhi, Jammu & Kashmir, and Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh & Chandigarh (PHHP&C)—are participating in the expedition. The camp is being managed by a dedicated team of Officers, Associate NCC Officers, Girl Cadet Instructors, Junior Commissioned Officers, and Non-Commissioned Officers.
JUIT, Waknaghat, Himachal Pradesh, is a premier multidisciplinary university recognized for its strong academic programmes, research excellence, innovation ecosystem, and industry-oriented education. Nestled in the Shivalik Hills, the university provides a vibrant learning environment and actively promotes leadership, community engagement, entrepreneurship, and national service initiatives among students. The university, under the dynamic leadership of Shri Manu Bhaskar Gaur, CEO, JUIT, continues to promote initiatives that contribute to nation-building, youth empowerment, leadership development, and holistic growth among young citizens.
The expedition commenced on 5 June 2026 with the arrival, registration, and orientation of participants. The formal inauguration was held on 6 June 2026, during which Camp Commandant Col Vivek Bhatara welcomed the cadets and highlighted the importance of discipline, teamwork, safety, and leadership. The day featured the Dumher Trek, followed by sports, recreational activities, and a cultural evening.
On 7 June 2026, cadets continued their adventure activities through treks to Tara Devi and Wakna. Participants from Group A also visited the Science Museum, where they explored interactive scientific exhibits and gained valuable learning experiences. The evening was dedicated to team-building activities and rehearsals for upcoming cultural competitions, promoting camaraderie and cultural exchange among cadets from different states.
HIMTREK 2026 aims to foster adventure, self-reliance, leadership, and national integration among young women while providing opportunities for experiential learning and personal growth. The expedition continues to serve as a unique platform for empowering NCC girl cadets and strengthening the spirit of “Unity and Discipline.”
