Jairam Thakur Asks Public to Seek Account of Congress Poll Guarantees
Una, Oct 31: Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur on Saturday urged people to question Congress leaders over the non-fulfilment of the party’s ten Assembly poll guarantees. He was addressing gatherings organised to honour newly elected panchayat representatives in the Kutlehar and Chintpurni constituencies.
Thakur criticised the state government over its proposed creation of new districts, alleging that earlier promises remained unfulfilled. He also accused the government of slowing development works and claimed that around ₹1,000 crore worth of projects had been sanctioned and completed in the Chintpurni area during the previous BJP government.
He called upon BJP workers to remain united and strengthen the party at the grassroots level. Former Union Minister and MP Anurag Thakur, former minister Virender Kanwar and other party leaders attended the gatherings.
