Says those involved in crimes against humanity will face unforgettable consequences

Kullu, April 23, 2025:
Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Jai Ram Thakur, strongly condemned the recent cowardly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, while addressing the media in Kullu. He declared that such an act was a “blot on humanity” and that “whosoever is involved, their hands will be cut off.” He asserted that the Government of India will eliminate such terrorist organizations and that these attacks will never shake the courage of the nation.

Thakur emphasized that the return of peace and development in Kashmir is bothering some forces, and through such attacks, they are inviting their own destruction. He said, “India is united, strong, and led by a determined leadership. We will neither fear nor bow down. The guilty will face exemplary punishment.”

Later in the day, Jai Ram Thakur also participated in a massive protest rally held in Kullu to express public outrage over the incident. People from across the region took part and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.

He also addressed a special tribute function organized in honour of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at Dev Sadan, Kullu under the banner of the BJP. He pointed out how despite Dr. Ambedkar’s opposition, Article 370 and 35A were implemented, giving Jammu and Kashmir a special status which led to separatism and injustice towards Dalits who were denied reservation benefits.

The event was chaired by BJP District President Amit Sood and attended by Sanjay Tandon (State BJP Co-Incharge), Siddharthan (Organization Secretary), former minister Govind Singh Thakur, and Ganga Singh (President, BJP SC Morcha, Kullu). MLAs from Banjar and Ani, former BJP candidate Narottam Thakur, and several senior district and state BJP office bearers were also present.

The leaders and attendees of the tribute function also joined the protest rally, expressing collective anger and solidarity with the victims of the terror attack.
