Hydraulic Parking Planned in Shimla Under ₹1200 Crore Urban Development Scheme

Shimla, April 27, 2026:
Public Works and Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh announced that hydraulic parking facilities will soon be developed in Shimla to ease traffic congestion. Around 15 locations have been identified under a ₹1200 crore urban development plan. The initiative also includes decongestion measures, underground utility infrastructure, and planned urban projects like Kangra Aerocity.
The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the 14th District Shimla ITI Women’s Sports Meet held at ITI Chaura Maidan. The minister emphasized the importance of sports and skill education in holistic development, highlighting increased employment and self-employment opportunities through ITIs.
He also announced financial support, including ₹41,000 for the event, ₹15,000 for ITI Shimla’s performance, and ₹5,000 for Best Athlete Mamta.
ITI Shimla emerged as the overall champion, excelling across multiple sports and cultural competitions.
