HPNLU Organises Legal Studies and Environmental Law Quiz as Part of Foundation Day Week

The Legal Aid Clinic, Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, in collaboration with the Centre for Environmental Studies, under the leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, organised a Quiz Competition on Legal Studies and Environmental Law on 29 September 2026 as part of the University’s 11th Foundation Day Week Celebrations, “अनुवर्धम्”.

The competition was organised with the objective of promoting legal awareness and encouraging students to engage with contemporary issues relating to law, environmental governance and access to justice. The event provided a dynamic platform for participants to test their knowledge and understanding of diverse areas of legal studies and environmental law.

The competition covered a wide range of themes, including constitutional and environmental jurisprudence, legal aid and access to justice, statutory and regulatory frameworks, landmark judgments, international environmental instruments, wildlife protection laws, environmental governance institutions, tribunals and recent developments in the field.

The quiz was conducted in three rounds. Twelve teams participated in the Knockout Round comprising multiple-choice questions, following which six teams advanced to the second round. The second round tested participants through analytical and knowledge-based questions requiring deeper engagement with the subject matter. The Final Round featured text-based as well as audio-visual questions, including photographs, video clips and documentary excerpts relating to legal studies and environmental law.

The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and successfully fostered greater awareness of contemporary legal and environmental issues. The initiative reflects HPNLU Shimla’s continued commitment towards promoting legal literacy, environmental consciousness and meaningful student engagement with socially relevant areas of law.
