Historic Lajpat Rai Water Works to Be Developed as Heritage Museum

Una, July 19, 2026: Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri has announced that the historic Lajpat Rai Water Works at Tahliwal, established in 1949, will be transformed into a Water Supply Heritage Museum. The project will preserve the original pump house, vintage pumping machinery, technical records, and other historical assets showcasing the evolution of drinking water infrastructure in Himachal Pradesh. The museum aims to serve as an educational and research hub, highlighting the state’s engineering heritage for future generations.
