Himachal Receives Over ₹10,000 Crore in Central Assistance: BJP Criticizes Congress for Negativity

Shimla, January 2025 – BJP’s State Media In-Charge, Karn Nanda, highlighted the extensive financial support provided by the central government to Himachal Pradesh while criticizing Congress leaders for their alleged baseless attacks. Nanda revealed that the state recently received ₹50.93 crore as revenue deficit compensation and ₹1,050.25 crore under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment Scheme.

Despite these funds, he noted that the Congress-led state government failed to acknowledge or thank the central government, reflecting a tendency to mislead the public. Nanda emphasized the significant contributions made by the center, including over ₹10,000 crore across various schemes and funds.

Key allocations include ₹746.84 crore under CAMPA funds, ₹90 crore under the State Disaster Mitigation Fund, ₹85.17 crore through NDRF, and ₹378.40 crore under SDRF. Furthermore, ₹100 crore was allocated for elections, ₹422.74 crore for rural local bodies, ₹269.76 crore under NHM, and ₹6 crore for health grants.

For the PM Poshan (Mid-Day Meal) Scheme, the center disbursed ₹26.02 crore as the third grant for FY 2024-25, totaling ₹65.84 crore so far. This initiative benefits over 5.7 lakh students across Himachal’s schools, including pre-primary children.

Nanda urged the state government to recognize these contributions and refrain from spreading misinformation, attributing Congress’s criticism to an attempt to mask administrative inefficiencies.
