Domestic tap connection to all rural families in the state by the year 2022

Mandi, 28 October:
Himachal Pradesh is playing a leading role in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of delivering ‘water from tap water to every house’ under the Water Life Mission in rural areas. Himachal has been at the forefront of delivering clean water to rural families and implementing it effectively through Jal Jeevan Mission. Mandi district has an important contribution in boosting the efforts of the state.
On the war footing to provide a working domestic tap connection with the goal of providing pure tap water to every household under the Jal Jeevan Mission under the efficient guidance of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and effective efforts of Water Power Minister Mahendra Singh Thakur Work is being done The state government has decided to achieve 100 percent coverage in Himachal by July 2022, much ahead of the national target of 2024.

Target to install 54 thousand 388 tap connections in Mandi district this year

Superintendent Engineer Upendra Vaidya of Water Power Department, Sundernagar Circle, states that out of 3 lakh 7 thousand 61 rural families in the district, 1.65 lakh have already been given tap connection. The work of providing working domestic tap connection to the remaining 1 lakh 41 thousand 559 is going on at a rapid pace. This year, a target has been set to install 54 thousand 388 working domestic tap connections in the district. Out of this, 28031 tap connections have been installed so far. It is targeted to install 87 thousand 171 tap connections for the year 2021-22. In this way, the target of 100 percent coverage of Mandi district will be achieved by March 2022.
Mohit Kumar and Ishant Gupta of Chailchowk told that earlier they had to carry water from far away due to not having a tap at home, but now the problem is over due to water taping from the Water Life Mission and no shortage of water is there.
