Goldstein Cricket Tournament Kicks Off with Dominant Wins and Close Contest

Shimla, April 28 2026: The 23rd Maj. R.K. Von Goldstein All India Inter-School Cricket Tournament commenced on a competitive note with three well-contested matches, reflecting a high standard of school cricket and emerging talent.

In the opening match, The Lawrence School, Sanawar registered a comprehensive 78-run victory over Punjab Public School, Nabha, posting 219/5. Saif was adjudged Player of the Match, while Kaustav was named Best Bowler.

In Match 2, Vasant Valley School delivered a dominant performance against Yadavindra Public School, Patiala, scoring 278/3. The rain-affected match concluded with VVS declared winners by 109 runs (DLS method). Saham Jha’s outstanding knock of 156 off 64 balls earned him Player of the Match, with Nitansh Khatri recognised as Best Bowler.

The third match saw Pinegrove School, Dharampur secure a well-earned 4-wicket win over La Martiniere College, Lucknow, successfully chasing 161. Daksh was named Player of the Match, while Arjun Tiwari was adjudged Best Bowler.

The tournament has set a promising tone, with teams displaying commendable sportsmanship and competitive spirit as they move into the next phase of fixtures.
