Ghazal Collection ‘Ghar Banaun Ki Phir Kitaab Likhoon’ Released at Literary Gathering in Shimla

Shimla, June 1: The Himachal Pradesh unit of the Progressive Writers’ Association organised the release of noted ghazal poet Sumit Raj’s latest collection, “Ghar Banaun Ki Phir Kitaab Likhoon”, at the Gaiety Theatre Conference Hall in Shimla. The event also featured a mushaira and poetry session attended by writers, poets, and literary figures from Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh.
The programme was presided over by renowned litterateur Suresh Seth, while Himachal Pradesh Education Secretary Rakesh Kanwar attended as the chief guest. Prominent literary personalities including Prof. Sukhdev Singh Sirsa, Surjit Singh Jaj, S.N. Joshi, Atma Ranjan, K.R. Bharti, Manmohan Singh Danish, Kuldeep Sharma, Dr. Jitender Parwaaz, and others participated in discussions on the book and appreciated Sumit Raj’s contribution to contemporary ghazal writing.
During the event, several speakers reviewed the collection and highlighted its literary depth and creative expression. Sumit Raj also shared insights into his writing journey and creative process.
The second session featured a vibrant poetry and ghazal recital, with poets and writers from different regions presenting their works before an appreciative audience. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks after a day-long celebration of literature, poetry, and cultural dialogue.
