From Vision to Action: JUIT Solan to Lead Youth Parliament for Shimla & Kinnaur

The Government of India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced the organization of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025, an initiative aimed at actively engaging the youth in the democratic process. In an exciting development for local students, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) has been designated as the Nodal Center for the Shimla and Kinnaur districts. The NSS Unit of JUIT will oversee the coordination of this significant event, which provides a valuable platform for young voices to express their opinions on national issues. Students from Shimla and Kinnaur are especially encouraged to seize this unique opportunity, as they will represent their districts in various stages of the event.
The participation is open to youth aged between 18 to 25 years as of February 24, 2025. The selection process will unfold in four levels. The first level requires participants to upload a one-minute video on the topic “What does Viksit Bharat mean to you?” on the My Bharat Portal, with a registration deadline set for March 16, 2025. The second level will feature shortlisted participants, who will present a three-minute speech on “One Nation, One Election: Paving the Way for Viksit Bharat” at JUIT in March 2025. The third level will advance to a state level, where speakers will discuss the theme of “75 Years of the Indian Constitution: A Journey of Rights, Duties, and Progress; The 11 Sankalp of Samvidhan Divas: A Pledge to Strengthen India’s Constitutional Values.” Finally, the national level will gather participants in New Delhi to share insights on “One Nation, One Election: Simplifying Democracy, Amplifying Progress, Ensuring Stability.”
This initiative aligns with the government’s vision for a progressive India and encourages youth engagement, offering students an opportunity to contribute to the democratic dialogue.
