Festival of Joy: St. Thomas’ School Shimla Marks Annual Day with Cultural Splendor

Shimla, September 27: St. Thomas’ School, Shimla celebrated its Annual Appreciation Day for Classes VI to VIII under the theme Ullas Utsav – Festival of Joy with great enthusiasm. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Lalit Bhardwaj, Production Designer and Art Director.
The celebration began with a lamp-lighting ceremony followed by a lively welcome dance. Principal Vidhupriya Chakravarty welcomed the dignitaries and presented the Annual Report for the academic session 2024-25. The cultural programme showcased Kerala Dance, dramatizations on Mahabharata, Who Am I, Helen Keller, Doctor Faustus, and All the World’s a Stage. Regional dances including Bengali, UP, Rajasthani, and Punjabi performances celebrated India’s diversity. A Hindi play Sher Pe Savaa Sher, patriotic acts depicting historic freedom movements, and a tribute Swatantra ki Goonj added vibrancy.
The prize distribution ceremony honored meritorious students for general proficiency, full attendance, good conduct, sports, and slogan writing. The Chief Guest lauded the efforts of students and emphasized the role of cultural programs in holistic education. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Mrs. Sharon Nanda.
