District-Level Competitions Held in Una to Mark Sanskrit Week

Students showcase talent in Sanskrit song, recitation, essay writing and quiz competitions

Una, August 25: The Department of Language and Culture, Himachal Pradesh, organised district-level competitions at Lata Mangeshkar Kala Kendra, Samoor Kalan, on Tuesday as part of Sanskrit Week.

Students from various schools across Una district participated enthusiastically in Sanskrit song, shloka recitation, essay writing and quiz competitions. The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp before Goddess Saraswati.

In the Sanskrit song competition, Meet of Government Senior Secondary School Charara secured first position, followed by Arushi Sharma of GSSS Poliyan Purohitan in second, Harshita of GSSS Bangana in third and Yashika of DAV School Lathiani in fourth.

In the essay writing competition, Rashika of Sanskar Adarsh Vidyalaya Bangana stood first, Pari of Swami Vivekanand Vidyalaya Gagret second, Khushboo of GSSS Kalruhi third and Angel of Children Public School Una fourth.

In the quiz competition, Ruhani Dhiman of GSSS Ripoh Misran and Amanat of Sanskar Adarsh Vidyalaya Bangana jointly secured first position. Jyoti of GSSS Samoor Kalan and Rameshwarm Nath of GSSS Kaloh secured second place, while Divya of GSSS Basal, Akriti of DAV School Lathiani and Akshara of GSSS Mandli shared third position. Aanchal of GSSS Dhanet secured fourth place.

In the shloka recitation competition, Khushi of Arya Public School Bangana secured first position. Vanshika of GSSS Dangoli and Harsh Kaushal of GSSS Mandli stood second, Bhushan of Swami Vivekanand Vidyalaya Gagret third and Riddhima Sharma of GSSS Kalruhi fourth.

A panel of educationists and Sanskrit scholars served as judges for the competitions. Certificates and prizes were presented to the winners at the conclusion of the programme.

District Language Officer Nikku Ram thanked all participating students, teachers and members of the judging panel for their contribution to the successful conduct of the event.
