DC Hamirpur Orders Immediate Rectification of Road Accident Black Spots

Hamirpur, April 29: Deputy Commissioner Gandharva Rathore has directed the Public Works Department and National Highways authorities to take prompt action in identifying and rectifying accident-prone black spots across the district. Chairing the monthly District Road Safety Committee meeting, he stressed that timely improvements and coordination with police can significantly reduce road accidents.

The DC instructed officials to install speed breakers in crowded areas, mark zebra crossings, designate bus stops, and clearly identify parking and no-parking zones to ensure smoother traffic flow and enhanced safety.

He also directed the health department to complete formalities for providing cashless treatment up to ₹1.5 lakh for accident victims and ensure immediate online data entry of each case. Discussions were also held on the district road safety plan and related measures.
