DC Gandharva Rathore Seeks Mothers’ Feedback on Child Nutrition

Bhoranj, August 13: Deputy Commissioner Gandharva Rathore interacted with women at the Mini Secretariat in Bhoranj to review the progress of the pilot **Nutritional Intervention Programme** and gather feedback on the use of ragi powder for improving nutrition among young children.

A total of 55 women, including mothers of young children, participated in the interaction. Under the initiative launched on a pilot basis in Bhoranj by the district administration and the Women and Child Development Department, ragi powder rich in nutritional value is being distributed to young children.

During the session, mothers shared their experiences, observations and suggestions regarding the use of ragi powder and their children’s response to it. Several participants gave positive feedback and expressed willingness to continue using ragi powder as part of their children’s nutrition.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the greater use of locally available, nutritious food items and active participation of parents in ensuring children’s health and nutrition. She also directed Anganwadi workers to conduct regular home visits and ensure effective implementation of the pilot project.

She stressed the importance of closely monitoring the use of ragi powder, children’s responses and feedback received from mothers.

SDM Bhoranj Shashi Pal Sharma thanked the Deputy Commissioner and said that selecting Bhoranj for the ragi-based pilot project was an important step towards improving child nutrition.
