In Rae Bareli, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukkhu is currently engaged in election campaigning. Congress’ former National President and Lok Sabha candidate Rahul Gandhi is also present in the electoral arena. On Wednesday, the Chief Minister conducted corner meetings in various places in Rae Bareli, including Shivgarh-Seewan, Paho-Harchandpur, Pahuri, Bandeyi, Lal Ganj Bazaar, and Amava, to seek votes for Rahul. He appealed to the public to vote in favor of the Congress party to save democracy.

The Chief Minister stated that the BJP is weakening democracy. The Congress party has given the people the greatest power of voting. He urged people to use their vote wisely to lay the foundation for a bright future. The Chief Minister emphasized that it is the power of the vote that brings big leaders, chief ministers, and ministers to seek votes. National leaders do not have a permanent constituency; they can contest elections from anywhere. Today, Rahul Gandhi has come to contest elections from Rae Bareli, where his mother Sonia Gandhi served as your MP. She has done a lot for Rae Bareli, and now Rahul Gandhi has come to serve you.

The Chief Minister mentioned that the Congress party has a history of sacrifice. Former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed their lives for the country. When the country was in turmoil, the Congress party took charge and laid the foundation for self-reliance, leading the nation in a new direction. If the country is progressing today, it is because of the strong foundation laid by the Congress party. He appealed to the public not to be swayed by the BJP’s rhetoric; the Congress party has made several promises to the common people in its manifesto, which will truly change the country’s situation.

During the corner meetings, the Chief Minister also mentioned the achievements and new schemes initiated by the Congress government in Himachal Pradesh. He stated that the Congress party is truly the advocate of the common man. The government has provided OPS to 1.36 lakh employees, established the Children of the State under the Sukh Aashraya Yojana for 4,000 children, initiated a monthly pension of Rs. 1500 for women above 18 years of age, provided free education to 1.15 lakh children of widows, provided free treatment to elderly people over 70 years of age, and provided MSP on milk. The government has started English medium education from the first class. What Congress says, it does. In the 15-month tenure in Himachal, 6 out of 10 promises have been fulfilled.
