Chakamoh College Promotes Voter Awareness Through Speech and Rangoli Competitions

Students highlight importance of voting and responsible citizenship

Bijhri, August 26: The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of Baba Balak Nath College, Chakamoh, organised speech and rangoli competitions on Wednesday under the Election Commission of India’s SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) programme. The Red Ribbon Club also supported the event.

Organised under the guidance of Principal Dr. Naresh Kumar Thakur, the programme was attended by Bijhri BEEO Amarjeet Singh as the chief guest. He briefed students on the democratic process, the importance of voting rights and the role of voting in responsible citizenship.

He said the success of democracy depends on aware and active voters and encouraged young people to remain conscious of their voting rights.

The Principal said ELC and SVEEP activities aim to promote electoral literacy, democratic values and responsible citizenship among students.

During the speech competition, students shared their views on the importance of voting, the role of youth in democracy, voter awareness, and fair and ethical voting. Participants in the rangoli competition conveyed messages of voter awareness and democratic participation through creative designs.

Students who performed exceptionally well in both competitions were awarded prizes.
