CBSE Organises Two-Day English Workshop at St. Thomas’ School Shimla

Shimla, May 24: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organised a two-day English Core Senior Secondary Level workshop at St. Thomas’ School, Shimla on May 23 and 24, 2026, aimed at enhancing innovative teaching practices in English language education.
The workshop focused on equipping teachers with modern, simplified and activity-based methods of teaching English language and grammar, while also emphasising the effective integration of technology into classroom instruction.
Mrs. Jyotsna and Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma served as keynote speakers and resource persons during the programme, guiding educators on contemporary pedagogical approaches and interactive learning techniques.
The event commenced with the traditional lamp-lighting ceremony. Principal Sharon Nanda welcomed the guests and participants and highlighted the objectives of the workshop. The resource persons were also felicitated by the school administration.
Teachers from several neighbouring schools participated in the workshop alongside faculty members of St. Thomas’ School, making the programme a collaborative learning platform for educators across the region.
During the concluding session, STNC Anshul Sharma expressed gratitude to the speakers and participants for their active involvement and contribution. Principal Sharon Nanda appreciated the support extended by CBSE and announced that more Capacity Building Programmes (CBPs), subject enrichment sessions and in-house teacher training workshops would be organised by the school in the future.
The workshop provided educators with valuable insights into learner-centric teaching methods and strengthened professional collaboration among teachers.
