Aucky Geographers’ Club Explores GIS at RKMV College

Shimla, March 24, 2025 – Twenty-two students from the Aucky Geographers’ Club embarked on an academic exploration at the Department of Geography, RKMV College, Shimla. The visit, which started with a lecture on Geographic Information Systems (GIS), soon transformed into a hands-on training session in geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and cartography using ArcGIS and QGIS software.

The students were guided by Dr. Arvind Paul, Head of the Department, and received encouragement from RKMV Principal Dr. Anurita Saxena. The experience broadened their academic horizons, introducing them to potential careers in geography and geospatial sciences.
