Camp Organized by Human Welfare Service Committee

Under the aegis of the Himachal Pradesh Government’s Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and the Human Welfare Service Committee in Chaupal district of Shimla, a awareness program was organized today on March 27, 2024, at JCB Public School Khalini, as part of the CPLI scheme aimed at creating awareness under the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ (Drug-Free India Campaign). Adolescents aged 10 to 18 participated in the program, with parents also present.

Deepak Sundariyal, the Area Coordinator of the CPLI scheme, informed that similar programs have been conducted in all 34 wards under the Shimla Municipal Corporation over the past month. Today’s program at JCB Public School Khalini aimed to educate children about the dangers of substance abuse.

During the session, the adolescents were provided vital information regarding the harmful effects of drug addiction. Sundariyal emphasized that substance abuse is often viewed as a deficiency in societal values, whereas it should be understood as a disease that can affect anyone. He urged everyone to participate in spreading awareness in their respective wards.

Trainers from the organization, Veerendra Kumar and Neelam Chauhan, also administered an oath against substance abuse to the students and encouraged them to actively participate in spreading awareness in their wards.
