This information was given by Additional Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal while presiding over the meeting of the District Task Force organized under the National Worm Liberation Program here today.
He said that a campaign will be organized from November 2 to 10, and Asha and Anganwadi workers will go door-to-door to give these supplements to children. Children who are suffering from cough and cold will not be given this dose yet. Apart from this, this medicine will not be given in the Containment Zone. The protocol of Covid 19 will be followed completely during the campaign. The education department will also support this work as information about the campaign will be during online classes.
At the meeting, CMO Dr. Devendra Sharma said that due to worm infection in children and adolescents, their physical and mental development is impeded, leading to malnutrition and anemia. He said that taking albendazole supplements for the stomach worms improves nutrition levels, and increases immunity in the body at regular intervals.
