79th Independence Day Celebrated with Grandeur at Dr. Y.S. Parmar University, Nauni

Nauni, August 15, 2025 – Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and dignity. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel hoisted the National Flag at the Dr. L.S. Negi Auditorium premises in the presence of statutory officers, heads of departments, NCC officers, and representatives of all employee organizations.

This year, the parade featured 63 NCC cadets, 87 NSS volunteers, 22 Scouts, and 25 security personnel. The Vice-Chancellor inspected the parade, took the salute, and extended his greetings, paying tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the nation’s freedom fighters. He urged students and staff to become responsible citizens, embrace cultural values, and contribute to the country’s growth. Prof. Chandel also shared the university’s progress report, emphasizing innovation, skill development, and entrepreneurship in agriculture and horticulture.

Guest speaker Vaidya Rajesh Kapoor Vashisth delivered a lecture on “Stress Management and Capacity Building,” highlighting lifestyle-related diseases and their Ayurvedic remedies. Cultural performances by students, including songs, dances, and skits, added vibrancy to the event. Visiting professors from France, Prof. Annick Vignes and Prof. Richard, praised the students’ talent and presentations.
