30 women receive entrepreneurship training in Ghanahatti

Shimla, September 9: A three-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme for 30 women associated with the stitching and tailoring business concluded at the Global Hill Development Institute, Ghanahatti, Shimla, on Tuesday. The programme was organised under the aegis of the Industries Department, Himachal Pradesh, from September 7 to 9.

The participants received practical training on entrepreneurial thinking, business development, customer behaviour, idea validation, value proposition and business models. Sessions also covered go-to-market strategies, business operations, finance, pricing, compliance, risk management, team building and leadership.

On the final day, the women presented their business ideas and models before an expert panel as part of the pitching and venture-readiness session. They were also briefed about government schemes and institutional support available for entrepreneurship.

All 30 participants were awarded certificates at the concluding ceremony. Experts encouraged the women to develop innovative stitching and tailoring enterprises based on local resources and market opportunities, with emphasis on financial planning, market linkages and business feasibility.

The programme aimed to promote entrepreneurship among women and encourage them to become job creators rather than only job seekers.
