Two Booked for Obstructing Police Duty in Sanjauli

Shimla, October 23: Sanjauli police have registered a case against two men following an argument with a traffic police constable at Sanjauli Chowk on October 22.

According to a police statement, the constable stopped a vehicle for using an unauthorised flasher light on its dashboard. Two occupants allegedly argued with the official, used abusive language and threatened him, obstructing him from performing his duty. The incident also disrupted traffic, the statement said.

The case was registered at Sanjauli police station under Sections 221 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), based on the constable’s written complaint.

The accused have been identified as Rahul Sharma, a resident of Dhalli, and Arnav, 23, a resident of Lower Kaithu, Shimla. Police said the investigation is underway.

Responding to allegations that a pistol was pointed at the men during the incident, police termed the claim unfounded, stating that the available facts did not substantiate it.
