11 Himachal Schools Earn National Merit in Swachh and Harit Vidyalaya Rating 2025-26

Shimla, July 21 : Eleven schools from Himachal Pradesh have been selected for the Certificate of Merit under the Ministry of Education’s Swachh and Harit Vidyalaya Rating (SHVR) 2025-26, marking a significant achievement for the state.
Among the top performers, GPS Nand, Bilaspur, secured the third rank in Rural Category-I, while PM SHRI Pt. Deendayal GMSSS Narg, Sirmaur, also secured the third rank in Rural Category-II. Other schools from Kullu, Una, Kangra, Solan and Hamirpur also featured in the national merit list.
The schools were recognised for excellence in cleanliness, waste management, water conservation, energy efficiency and the development of green campuses. Each selected school will receive a Certificate of Merit along with an incentive grant of ₹1 lakh to further strengthen sustainable practices.
Samagra Shiksha Director Rajesh Sharma congratulated the schools, stating that the recognition reflects the collective efforts of the state government, educators, students and local communities towards promoting clean, green and sustainable school campuses.
