₹46.28 Lakh Approved for E-Charging Station in Shahpur

Shahpur, August 16: A new electric vehicle charging station will be established at Shahpur Bus Stand at an estimated cost of ₹46.28 lakh. Shahpur MLA and Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania expressed his gratitude to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri for approving the required funds.

The people of the Shahpur Assembly constituency have also welcomed the approval and expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for the initiative.

Pathania said that three new electric buses are already being operated in the Shahpur Assembly constituency. To ensure their smooth and efficient operation, a dedicated charging station will be established at Shahpur Bus Stand. He said the site for the facility has already been identified in consultation with officials of the Transport and Electricity departments, and the concerned departments have been directed to complete the necessary formalities at the earliest.

He further said that the Transport Department has also been given necessary directions regarding the expansion of electric bus routes. The objective is to extend reliable and convenient public transport services to people living in rural areas.

The MLA said the establishment of the charging station in Shahpur would strengthen the electric bus network and provide residents with improved, environmentally friendly public transportation. The initiative is also expected to support the wider adoption of clean mobility in the region.
