Professional Achievement: Kritika Thakur Selected for Ph.D. Fellowship at South Dakota Mines

Kritika Thakur, an alumna of B.Tech. Biotechnology from Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, has been selected for a Ph.D. fellowship under the mentorship of Dr. Tanvi Govil at South Dakota Mines – An Engineering, Science, and Technology University in the USA.

Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Head of the Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics at JUIT, announced that Kritika will be joining the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering from January 2024. He further highlighted the university’s memorandum of understanding (MOU) with South Dakota Mines, facilitating student exchange programs for final semester UG & PG students. Selected students, including Kritika, will engage in research work at SD Mines under the guidance of Prof. Rajesh Sani.

Kritika completed her schooling at DAV Sr. Sec. School, Shimla. Vice-Chancellor of JUIT, Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma, extended his heartfelt congratulations to Kritika and her family on this remarkable achievement.

This achievement underscores Kritika’s dedication to academic excellence and the collaborative efforts between JUIT and South Dakota Mines in nurturing future leaders in biotechnology and engineering.
