National PR Day Celebrated with Creative Fervour at APG Shimla University

Shimla, April 21, 2025 – The School of Media and Mass Communication at APG Shimla University marked National Public Relations Day with enthusiasm, creativity, and deep academic engagement. The event highlighted the evolving role of public relations in the digital era and aimed to instill ethical communication values in budding PR professionals.

Observed annually on April 21 since 1986, PR Day was initiated by the Public Relations Society of India (PRSI) to spotlight the contributions of PR professionals. Celebrations at the university included insightful talks, interactive activities, and creative poster displays.

Dr. Neelam Sharma, Dean of Student Welfare, emphasized PR’s role in building organizational trust and credibility. Dr. Vijay Shree reflected on the quiet yet impactful work of PR professionals, stating they are the “eyes and ears” of organizations. Ashwani Sharma discussed the shift toward digital PR and the importance of adapting with ethics.

A highlight of the event was the poster and chart-making activity, where students showcased their understanding of PR through vibrant visual presentations. These were highly appreciated by faculty members for their creativity and depth.

Student Coordinator Ritesh Sharma played a key role in mobilizing student participation and promoting awareness of PR’s growing relevance. The event concluded with a message encouraging students to blend theoretical knowledge with modern tools and integrity in their PR journey.

This celebration served as a meaningful platform for students to grasp the real essence of public relations and their future role as ethical, impactful communicators.
