JUIT signs MoU with ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi

The Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat was established by Act No 14 of 2002 vide Extraordinary Gazette Notification of the Govt of Himachal Pradesh dated May 23, 2002. JUIT Waknaghat, Solan has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICAR – National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, New Delhi on May 11, 2023. This MoU was signed by Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma; Vice-Chancellor of JUIT and Dr. Gyanendra Pratap Singh, Director of ICAR-NBPGR. The MoU was witnessed by Prof. Sudhir Kumar, Head of Department of Biotechnology & Bioinformatics, JUIT and Dr. Shikha Mittal, Assistant Professor, BT/BI Department, JUIT. ICAR-NBPGR undertakes activities of plant introduction and germplasm augmentation for use in crop improvement and has well-equipped laboratories having most modern scientific instruments. The objective of this co-operation is to extend collaborative efforts between two institutions in education and academic research in terms of joint research activities and publications. The JUIT is also offering Ph.D in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics to JRFs/SRFs/RAs and other working candidates working at ICAR-NBPGR, New Delhi.
