AHS Celebrates Middle Section Speech Day with Enthralling Performances

Shimla, 25 September: Auckland House School, Shimla, celebrated its Middle Section Speech Day with a cultural extravaganza that highlighted the creativity and confidence of its young students. The event was graced by Dr. (Mrs.) Mamta Mokta, Professor of Public Administration & Dean of Student Welfare, Himachal Pradesh University, as the Chief Guest.

The celebration began with the hymn “Ten Thousand Reasons”, followed by a vibrant sequence of performances. Students presented English play ” A Light For Palace Fire” and Hindi play “Anokha Illaj” that carried strong social and moral messages, while the school choir mesmerized the audience with harmonious renditions. Traditional folk dances of Punjab, Kumaun, and Rajasthan, along with graceful classical presentations, reflected India’s cultural richness. The programme also featured piano recitals and instrumental ensembles, showcasing the school’s focus on nurturing musical talent.

On the occasion, Principal Smaraki Samantaroy presented the Annual Report, highlighting the academic progress, co-curricular achievements, and the school’s commitment to providing holistic education.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mokta said that “when the leaders are young, nothing can stop an institution from achieving new heights.” She praised the school for inculcating values of confidence, vibrance, and above all, kindness among its students. Calling Speech Day a mirror of the school’s spirit, where expression and learning go hand in hand, she lauded the efforts of the staff and parents in providing students with a strong foundation for the future.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and resounding applause, making the Middle Section Speech Day a memorable celebration of talent, tradition, and teamwork at Auckland House School.
