80th Independence Day celebrated at Shoolini with cultural performances

Shoolini University celebrated the 80th Independence Day with an NCC Guard of Honour and a series of cultural performances celebrating India’s heritage and national spirit.
Shoolini University Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla was the chief guest. The programme began with the singing of Vande Mataram, followed by the hoisting of the National Flag by Prof. Khosla and the NCC Guard of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Khosla reflected on India’s progress over the past eight decades and called upon everyone to contribute through meaningful and responsible work. He said every citizen had a role in building the nation and spoke about the dedication, responsibility and collective effort required to make India stronger and more progressive.
The cultural programme featured classical dance and music performances. Students from the School of Happiness and Spiritual Science presented a yoga sequence showing the connection between spirituality, wellness and Indian traditions.
The Himshobla Club performed Nati, the traditional folk dance of Himachal Pradesh, showcasing the state’s cultural heritage. Associate Professor Namita Gandotra recited a poem she had written, adding a literary element to the programme.
Shoolini student Soniya performed an original patriotic rap that she had written. The cultural programme concluded with a performance by the Saksham Dance Club.
Prof. Ashish Khosla, President, Marketing and Innovation, Shoolini University, proposed the vote of thanks. He thanked the participants and everyone involved in organising the celebration. He also paid tribute to Bharat Mata and led an oath taking ceremony, calling upon those present to contribute towards building a better and stronger India.
Students, faculty and staff attended the celebration and joined the pledge to contribute responsibly to the nation.
