Members of Himachal Pradesh Travel Agent Association HPTAA, Manali have requested the Transport Minister Bikram Singh to permit them to start Interstate AC buses on the lines on neighbouring states. The members of the association stated that due to COVID state tourism sector is already facing hard times and under such circumstances in the absence of non AC buses the passengers are shying away.
They requested that Air conditioned interstate Bus Services in Himachal Pradesh by way of SOP should be permitted as the air-conditioned service all over the Himachal by AC Buses and Volvo buses are the back bone of tourism in the state. Hill journey in itself is a tedious task and ordinary buses add to the discomfort of many passengers.
There are more than 50 busses run in off season that generates revenue for the state as well. AC buses will boost the tourist footfall too making it a win win situation for all said the association members.
