Special Campaign for Rescue and Rehabilitation of Homeless Persons

Shimla, October 5: A special campaign will be conducted across Shimla district from October 7 to 9, 2026, for the rescue, protection and rehabilitation of homeless persons suffering from mental illness.

The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) said the campaign is being organised on the directions of the Himachal Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, Shimla. It aims to identify homeless persons who require immediate care, protection, treatment, rehabilitation or admission to appropriate institutions.

The campaign will also focus on creating awareness among the public and stakeholders so that such persons can be identified and brought to the notice of the concerned authorities for necessary assistance and treatment.

The DLSA has appealed to the public to cooperate with the campaign and inform the concerned authorities if they find any such person in their surroundings.
