CM flags off anti-chitta rally in Rohru

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today flagged off an Anti-Chitta Rally from the Government Senior Secondary School in Rohru. He personally led the rally and joined the students to spread the message of staying away from drugs.

During the rally, the Rohru market echoed with slogans such as ‘Nasha Choro, Zindagi Se Naata Joro.’ A large number of students took part in the rally and spread awareness about the harmful effects of drugs.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was taking strict action against the drug mafia and that there was no place in Himachal Pradesh for people involved in the illegal drug trade. He said that the fight against drugs was not only the responsibility of the government, but a collective responsibility of every section of society.

He said that Anti-Chitta rallies and awareness programmes were being organised across the state to educate young people and the general public about the harmful effects of Chitta and other drugs and to encourage young people to stay away from substance abuse. He stressed that young people have a particularly important role to play in spreading awareness against drugs.

Earlier, the Chief Minister also administered the Anti-Chitta Pledge to the students and urged them to stay away from drugs and take an active role in making society drug-free.

During the event, the Chief Minister also took selfies with the children and encouraged them.
