FPO Training in Dharamshala Equips 28 Representatives with Business Expansion Skills

Dharamshala, September 30: A three-day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) for Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) from Kangra and Chamba concluded at the District Industries Centre, Dharamshala, with 28 representatives receiving training in business expansion and market development.

Organised by the Himachal Pradesh Industries Department under the Government of India’s RAMP scheme and implemented by NITCON Ltd, the programme focused on helping FPOs move beyond traditional farming towards processing, value addition, branding and wider market access.

Participants received practical training in financial management, costing, product development, food processing, FSSAI and organic certification, packaging, branding, GI tagging and digital platforms such as ONDC. An activity-based costing lab was also used to help participants calculate processing costs and determine suitable product prices.

FPOs displayed their local products during the programme, with experts providing suggestions on quality, packaging and market potential. Each participating FPO also prepared a three-year commercial blueprint outlining targets for product expansion, value addition and market linkages.

District Industries Centre Kangra General Manager Om Prakash Jarial presented certificates to all 28 participants and encouraged them to apply the training to strengthen their organisations.
