Sujanpur, September 24: Pravesh Chandel is increasingly emerging as a prominent name in the political conversation within Sujanpur BJP circles, putting his organisational role and grassroots activity under sharper focus as the constituency begins to look ahead to the 2027 Assembly election.

Chandel’s regular engagement with party workers and presence in organisational activities have brought him greater visibility in the constituency. His emergence is now being discussed alongside the BJP’s established political network, even as the party has yet to announce its candidate for Sujanpur.

What makes the Chandel factor significant is the wider organisational equation in the constituency. The influence of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and his long-standing network of party workers continues to form an important backdrop to BJP politics in the region. The role of veteran Dhumal loyalists amid the emergence of newer organisational faces is therefore being closely watched.

The Chandel discussion comes alongside continued activity by former MLA Rajinder Rana. At a recent BJP programme in Sujanpur, Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur backed Rana, saying he should be sent to the Assembly as the “voice of Sujanpur”.

Meanwhile, BJP-backed candidates recently secured the chairperson and vice-chairperson posts in the Sujanpur Panchayat Samiti, adding another organisational dimension to the constituency.
